I am originally from Japan, and I immigrated to the U.S.A. at the age of 10. I came to Groningen in 2007, and I am currently in my third year studying classical piano at the Prins Claus Conservatorium. I met my current piano professor in the States when she was giving lessons there.  I wanted to study with her for my bachelor's, so I followed her here to Groningen!

Upon arrival, I had no idea what Groningen would be like, but I knew from the moment I stepped into the city that I would like it here.  I felt this warm and welcoming atmosphere, and I felt at home immediately. God led me to discover a local international church (CCG) and HOST through friends within a few weeks of my arrival.

I still remember feeling so blessed and amazed at how fast I made new friends through HOST. I joined the bible study groups, and they became my second family to me. I looked forward to going there every week. It was such an encouragement to be together with other Christians to share meals together, pray together, and to support each other in our faith.  My heart still fills up with warmth when I look back on all the wonderful times I've had with my friends in HOST. My time in Groningen would not have been the same without HOST!
I feel to blessed and thankful for God for making HOST a part of my life.
